We collect only what helps us understand whether this neighborhood paper is useful, and we keep personal information out of our website analytics.
Website analytics
Our first-party analytics measure pageviews, anonymous visits, active reading time, scroll depth, broad device class, page path, referrer domain, and approximate city, region, and country supplied by Cloudflare.
Analytics do not use cookies. We do not put IP addresses, exact coordinates, postal codes, email addresses, full referrer URLs, URL query parameters, or browser fingerprints into the analytics dataset. The anonymous visit identifier is random, stays in one browser tab, expires after 30 minutes of inactivity, and disappears when the tab closes. Cloudflare retains this analytics data for three months.
The tracker honors your browser's Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control settings. When either signal is enabled, the site does not send analytics events.
Newsletter
If you choose to subscribe, we use the email address you provide to send the Lower Haight Local newsletter and related publication updates. Website analytics are not connected to newsletter email addresses.
